1. FDNY Firefighter Plunges to Death Off Bridge Helping Crash Victims

An FDNY firefighter died after he fell more than 50 feet off a bridge in Brooklyn while trying to help injured people at the scene of a car wreck, officials say.

Steven Pollard, 30, who comes from a family of FDNY firefighters, rushed to the scene of the crash around 10 p.m. on westbound side of the Belt Parkway, just east of Flatbush, FDNY Commissioner Daniel A. Nigro said.

Pollard tried jumping from one side to the other when he slipped through a gap on the Mill Basin overpass and plunged 52 feet to the concrete below.

2. Suspected Grow House Busted in the Bronx

A water leak led police to a suspected marijuana grow house in the Bronx. 

Officers carried out boxes of plants and bricks from the apartment building in East Tremont on Sunday. 

Firefighters were originally called for the leak, but also found alleged illegal electrical wiring and turned the case over to the NYPD.

3. Kevin Spacey to be Arraigned for Assault and Battery on Monday

Actor Kevin Spacey will be arraigned at Nantucket District Court to face charges of assault and battery.

The charges stem from allegations that Spacey groped the son of former Boston news anchor Heather Unruh in July of 2016.

The arraignment comes after the actor’s attorney tried to have him excused from the proceedings.
