A former New York City police officer who drunkenly wiped out a family with his car has been freed from prison after a decade behind bars.
Joseph Gray was released Friday from a jail in Dutchess County.
On Aug. 4, 2001, the officer was headed to his precinct house in Brooklyn following a day of heavy drinking when he plowed his minivan into a family crossing the street.
A 23-year-old pregnant woman was killed, along with her 4-year-old son and 16-year-old sister. Doctors delivered the woman's baby by Cesarean section, but that child also died.

Gray was convicted of second-degree manslaughter.
His family told The Staten Island Advance in a statement that he's "thrilled" to be back home.
In the past he has said his crime was "inexcusable."
