A warm, humid front is seeping into the tri-state that will make the end of May feel more like July.
Increased risk for severe weather accompanies the extreme humidity, and isolated thunderstorms bringing hail, gusty winds, downpours and lightning are possible Wednesday afternoon and evening, particularly north of the city.

A high of 84 was forecast for Wednesday, and except for the occasional storm, it's expected to be sunny, hazy, hot and humid for the rest of the week.
The summery weather pattern will likely last until Monday, when meteorologists say the heat will break just a bit and the risk for rain and thunderstorms across the region expands.
Thursday and Friday are expected to be the warmest days of the next few, with temperatures bordering and possibly pushing past the 90-degree mark.
Temperatures cool down slightly by the weekend, back to the middle 80s, under mostly sunny skies.
Scattered thunderstorms move in late Sunday into Monday, dropping temperatures into the high 70s to start the work week. The sun returns Tuesday, with comfortable temperatures around 75 degrees.
