An elderly woman died after falling out a fifth-floor window of a Manhattan townhouse Monday morning, authorities say.
Police got a call about the woman falling from the building on East 50th Street and First Avenue shortly after 9 a.m. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities didn't know the exact age of the woman, but said she was older. The circumstances surrounding her fall are under investigation.
