2 Men Killed When Speeding BMW Ricochets off Guardrail, Flies Into Tree: NYPD

Two men were killed Monday when their car went airborne off a Queens exit ramp and crashed into a tree, police said.

The men were in a 2013 BMW that was speeding down a Grand Central Parkway exit ramp in North Corona around 8:40 p.m., police said.

The driver, 39-year-old Carlos Diaz, apparently lost control of the vehicle at a turn on the 111th Street exit ramp and crashed into a metal guardrail. The car then became airborne and hit a tree 32 feet from the roadway before turning over on its side.

Diaz and a 39-year-old man in the passenger seat were killed. The passenger’s name has been withheld pending notification of his family.
