Firefighters Injured in Long Island Fire

The blaze erupted Friday morning on Blackheath Road in Lido Beach

Four firefighters were injured after a roof collapsed on them during a fire at a Long Island home.

The blaze erupted Friday morning on Blackheath Road in Lido Beach.
 
The firefighters' injuries were not life threatening.
 
One suffered burns and another had head and neck injuries. Both were taken to the hospital.
 
The other two firefighters had burns but did not require medical treatment.
 
According to Newsday, firefighters found the second floor in flames when they arrived at around 6:50 a.m. They say the ceiling collapsed on them as they reached the upper floor.
 
Authorities say the owners were away on vacation.
