H&M to Open in Upper East Side in Spring 2009

H&M is coming to 86th Street.

Good news, Upper East Siders! The new Lucida building on the corner of 86th Street and Lexington Avenue revealed signage over the weekend that H&M is opening in spring 2009. The plans for the retailer were first discussed several years ago, but we take this latest development as confirmation that no global financial crisis can stop the power of high-fashion items at a mass-market price. So, hello, there, Daria Werbowy and the rest of the H&M posse. We'll be checking you out every time we get off the subway till you open those doors come spring.
