Now Open: DWR Gives Soho Tools For Living

Today DWR opens their new concept store Tools For Living at 142 Wooster Street in Soho. The store, less couches and end tables and more high-design kleenex boxes and butter dishes, has already received rave reviews from Apartment Therapy (which has a gallery with forty images of the place) and Metropolis. The boutique is the first of its kind, and houses modern staples for your office, kitchen and garden. We particularly like Metropolis' take on it:

With its first Tools for Living store opening tomorrow in Soho, Design Within Reach has effectively cornered the market on products for what seems to be a growing subdemographic: rugged obsessive-compulsives (mostly men, to be frank) who prize a beat-up Barbour wax-wear jacket as much as a neat line of color-coded Muji pens. The shop might as well be named Tools for the Stubbly Urban Dandy.

We wonder how Muji feels about all this.
