How to Score Kate's Sold-Out Dress

Proving the Duchess of Cambridge is still a retail force to be reckoned with: The simple $340 Reiss dress she wore to meet the Obamas sold out online in just one day.

This isn't the first time that Kate Middleton has created a run on a Reiss dress: She wore a similarly simple white dress for her official engagement photos. While the white dress generated a similar shopping fervor, it seems this new neutral-tone frock -- "the Shola" -- sold out in mere hours online.

We checked in with the West Broadway flagship, who, in addition to confirming that the dress was sold out nationwide, revealed, that the brand was "saving exclusive updates on when it will be in for Reiss Facebook fans."

(We'll call this for what it is: A genius — and incredibly apt — social marketing move, considering that each new dress style seems to be kicking off a style hunting network of its own.)

For those looking to copy the look, try Topshop's $95 nude sleeveless dress, or Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent's cowl-neck dress for $295 exclusively at Barneys New York.
