Kwanzaa Party in Harlem!

If you’re not doing anything tonight and you celebrate Kwanzaa, you should check out the party in Harlem. Heck, even if you don’t celebrate the holiday, this is worth seeing.

Back by popular demand, The Apollo Theater presents its 3rd Annual Kwanzaa Celebration with Regeneration Night, a multifaceted performance featuring the renowned Harlem-based dance company Forces of Nature Dance Theatre. For the 2008 program, Forces of Nature will be joined on the legendary Apollo stage by special guest artists Songs of Solomon Inspirational Ensemble and cutting-edge singer DK Dyson.

Hosted by actress Hazelle Goodman, the show starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Appollo Theater between 7th and 8th avenues and is a great way to celebrate Kwanzaa as well as the spirit of the holiday season.

Tickets only cost $15 per person or $12 person for groups of five or more, and you can purchase them at Ticketmaster.com or at the theater box office on 125th Street. Bring your entire family!

But … if you can’t make it out tonight, you can also bring friends and family to an afternoon Kwanzaa Celebration with state Sen. Bill Perkins.

The annual Harlem community event is a fun-filled afternoon with food, entertainment and activities to celebrate friends, family and culture. The event runs from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Harlem Branch of the New York Public Library on 124th Street between Fifth and Lenox avenues. What’s the price of admission? Nothing – just bring your kids!
