DARING FEATS: It’s the first Monday of the month, and you know what that means: tap-dancing bears, trained rats, aerial artists, sword-swallowing and something called the “Human Blockhead Kendama Feat,” which has actually never been accomplished. Bindlestiff's Open Stage Variety Show – curated by Keith Bindlestiff of the Family Cirkus – is at Galapagos at 8PM.

CONVERSATION: Actor, playwright, Obie winner and NYC literato Wallace Shawn – of “My Dinner with André” and “Gossip Girl” fame – knows a little something about writing and the creative process. Tonight, he discusses these two beasts with “People’s History of the United States” editor Anthony Arnove at the 92nd Street Y. “Thoughts On Creativity” is at 8:15PM.

HELP: Rock the Rescue: Benefit for Haiti is a chance to subject your eardrums to some of NYC’s finest nose – from bands like Japanther, Fresh Kills, Columboid and Das Racist – and do good at the same time. Everything from your cover ($10) to bar tabs and tips is being donated to the Bedford Stuyvesant Volunteer Ambulance Corps’ Haiti rescue efforts. The Woods, Williamsburg, 7:30PM.
