Believe it or not, this year’s Skip Lunch Fight Hunger campaign is just a few months away! Mark your calendars: Skip Lunch Fight Hunger takes place on Wednesday, May 12, 2010.
We can’t do it alone and need your help now more than ever. City Harvest’s partner agencies are reporting an average increase of 15% in the demand for emergency food since just last year, and more food is needed. We invite you to return as a team captain in 2010 to help make this year’s campaign a success.
• Register today or start a team at www.skiplunch.org. Once you register, you can set a goal for you and your team. You will have your own customizable fundraising page to direct your friends, family and colleagues to throughout the campaign. Use our fundraising toolkit to help reach your goal!
• Talk to your company’s human resources or philanthropy/community engagement departments to see if they have ideas to help support or publicize the day. Don’t forget to ask if your company matches employee contributions.
Last year, we were thrilled to report that thanks to your leadership and generosity as well as the support of hundreds of other teams and thousands of New Yorkers, Skip Lunch Fight Hunger raised over $400,000! That was enough to help feed over 22,000 children and their families for the entire summer.

The top five fundraising teams will be listed on the City Harvest Skip Lunch Fight Hunger truck for one full year and the top 25 teams are listed in a full-page Metro New York advertisement.
