Chris Cimino's morning forecast for Monday, December 31. (Published Monday, Dec 31, 2012)

The year will end briskly, with temperatures below freezing and wind chills making it feel much colder, and the wintry weather continues into the first few days of 2013.

The new year starts off cold, with a chance for a passing flurry around midnight. Revelers in Times Square should wear layers and bundle up to stay warm.

New Year's Day will be mostly cloudy with a high of 40, and will stay that way through Wednesday.

The sun returns Thursday but it will still feel brisk, and tempratures are expected to hover below freezing until Sunday.
