Police are searching for a hit-and-run dump truck driver who struck and killed a pedestrian near Union Square early Thursday.

The woman, 21, was hit at about 1:30 a.m.

According to police, the driver was heading eastbound on 14th Street, attempting to turn southbound onto Broadway at the same time the woman was crossing the street.

The woman, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at Beth Israel Hospital.
