Several Injured in 3-Car Crash in Jersey City: Police

Several people were injured in a three-car crash Monday night in New Jersey, according to police.

The crash happened at Fulton Avenue and Van Cleef Street in Jersey City at 10:30 p.m.

Two men who were in a 1999 Honda were taken to University Hospital with serious injuries, according to police. Billy Wilson, the 31-year-old driver sustained a fractured neck and was listed in serious but stable condition. The front seat passenger, 32-year-old Derrick Wright, sustained a broken left rib and was listed in stable, non-life threatening condition.

Police said two women and two children, ages 4 and 5, who were in a 2000 Ford at the time of the crash were taken to Jersey City Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Front seat passenger Tara Garcia reported pain on her right side. The driver, 32-year-old Sonia Collazo, and the children were uninjured.

The third car involved in the crash was a 2004 Volkswagen that was parked and unoccupied at the time of the crash. It was hit by one of the other vehicles, but it was not clear which one.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
