Patients Make Plea for NY Medical Marijuana Law

New Jersey's already got one

Seriously ill patients from across the state will be in Albany today to make a last-ditch plea for a medical marijuana law in New York.

The urgent request comes after the Pharmacists Society of the State of New York endorsed a law that would provide seriously ill patients with legal access to medical marijuana to relieve pain and nausea.

Fourteen states, most recently New Jersey, and the District of Columbia have passed medical marijuana laws.

The state Senate estimates that New York could get up to $15 million from the licensing fees paid by medical marijuana providers.
