Police are searching for a suspect in a rape in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

Police said a 26-year-old woman was walking in the area of 198 Java St. just after midnight Sunday, June 16 when she was approached by a man who tried to strike up a conversation with her. 

The man, armed with a knife, then raped the victim, police said. 

The suspect is believed to be in his mid-20s to mid-30s. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS or at nypdcrimestoppers.com.
