Powerball is coming to New York early next year say state lottery officials.
Back in April, the New York Lottery got approval for the 2009-2010 budget to add another multi-state lottery.
After the summer, it seemed like the plan had fizzled out since the state's talks with the group that runs Powerball, the Multi-State Lottery Association.
Recently however, the 12 states that offer the Mega Millions, New York included, came to an agreement with Powerball to allow it in 43 states to offer both games.
There are also discussions of creating one national game.
No particular date has been set, but NY Lottery says the goal is to start in the first few months of 2010.
