When the shooting stopped, one person was dead and four others were injured.

Police say a man was outside a Brooklyn bakery Monday when the two armed men charged toward him and started shooting. They say he fled into the nearby salon and the men followed and kept shooting.

The off-duty officer was shot in a foot. A stylist at the salon in the Fort Greene neighborhood was shot in a leg. Two bystanders also were shot.

The extent of their injuries hasn't been disclosed.

Police say it appears the shooters were aiming for the man who was killed. They say the shooters are being sought.

A city councilwoman who saw the shooting says people on the street went running for cover.

Police said they are looking for a 2001 Chevy Tahoe with New York license plates.
