Brand Sand hit the jackpot -- even if his team didn't.

A Long Island man -- who is a Dolphins fan! --  flew down to Florida this weekend for the game against the Jets, and now he's really seeing green.

No, he didn’t become a Jets fan. He got lucky in another way.

Brian Sand of Woodmere, N.Y., and his son, also a 'Fins fan, attended the game Sunday night at Miami's Sun Life Stadium.

And although his beloved fish turned belly-up against the Jets, a lottery ticket that Sand purchased at the stadium turned out to be a real winner.

Today, Sand claimed a $100,000 Miami Dolphins Scratch-Off prize at the Lottery’s Miami District Office.

“We don’t get to visit Florida often to attend Dolphins games, instead we usually watch them play when they are on the road playing the Jets,” Sands explained. “We were just walking into the stadium and I noticed a lottery ticket sales booth so I purchased a scratch-off ticket. We got to where our seats were before I scratched the ticket and saw that I was a $100,000 winner.”

No official word yet on whether that $100,000 helped soothe the pain of losing to Gang Green, which proved to be the superior unit, winning 31 – 23.
