Convicted Rapist Accused of Sexually Abusing L.I. Teen

Daniel Rodriguez, of Bay Shore, was arrested Thursday afternoon and charged with aggravated sexual abuse.

Police have arrested a registered sex offender for allegedly sexually abusing a teenage girl.      

Daniel Rodriguez, of Bay Shore, was arrested Thursday afternoon and charged with aggravated sexual abuse, promoting a sexual performance of a child, failure to register as a sex offender and other charges.      

Police say the 45-year-old Rodriguez was convicted of rape in 1992 of raping a 20-year-old woman and was required to register as a sex offender.      

He is scheduled to be arraigned on Friday. It wasn't known if he had an attorney.
