At least they'll still be able to see the ones across the Hudson.
Economic conditions have forced Jersey City to cancel the July Fourth concert and fireworks at Liberty State Park.
Mayor Jerramiah Healy says the funding will be spread out to approximately 20 other concerts and cultural events in July and August.
Healy says the city hopes to have fireworks next year if the economy improves.
Spectators will still be able to see fireworks along the Hudson River on Independence Day because the annual Macy's display will take place in New York City.
