Bronx Man, 68, Found With Severed Privates Inside Bathtub in Claremont: NYPD

Police say a homeless man severed the genitalia of a 68-year-old man who was found dead inside the bathroom of his Bronx apartment.

Authorities arrested Jerry Pagan on Sunday morning. The 32-year-old was charged with murder in the second degree.

Police received a call regarding an assault at 1348 Sheridan Avenue in the Claremont neighborhood shortly after 8:30 p.m., authorities said. Upon arrival, officers found the 68-year-old victim with his genitalia severed, lying on his side inside his bathtub. Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Pagan and the victim knew each other for years and had a sexual encounter just a week ago, according to police. He was allegedly angered by something the victim did during the sexual act.

Authorities said he went to the man's home Friday, where a verbal disagreement ensued between the two. Following the argument, Pagan struck him in the head with a hammer and stabbed him several times with a pair of scissors before removing his genitalia with a razorblade.

He stayed in the apartment with the victim's body, occasionally coming and going until last night, police said.

A neighbor visited the apartment Friday night asking for the victim's whereabouts while Pagan was inside. Police said the neighbor entered the apartment, found the victim's body and told another person, who then called for help.

Pagan allegedly told authorities he planned to eat the victim's genitalia after cutting it off.
