Firefighter Hurt Battling Laundromat Blaze in Brooklyn: FDNY

A fire broke out Sunday evening at a laundromat in Brooklyn, injuring one firefighter, the FDNY says.

Firefighters were at the scene of the blaze at a building on 10th Avenue in Borough Park, the FDNY said. The first floor contains a laundromat. 

The blaze broke out around 7:15 p.m. and was placed under control about an hour later, the FDNY said. 

One firefighter was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries, firefighters said. It was not immediately clear what those injuries were, but officials said they are not life-threatening.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
