Sean Goldman Back in NJ

The boy arrived late Monday night

The 9-year-old boy at the center of an international custody battle that grabbed the attention of the world, is back home in New Jersey.  Sean Goldman arrived with his father, David Goldman, just after 10 Monday night.  Their dark SUV pulled up to the Goldman's home in Tinton Falls adorned with Christmas lights and festive candy canes on the driveway.

Father and son were reunited in Brazil on Christmas eve after a 5 year fight between Sean's father and his family in Brazil.  Brazil's Chief Justice ruled that Sean belonged with his father.  The two left Brazil and headed to Florida for some time to bond before ultimately heading home to New Jersey.

Goldman's nightmare custody battle began in 2004.  His wife took Sean on what was supposed to be a 2 week trip to her native Brazil.  She never returned.  She divorced David, remarried and recently died in child birth.

David fought for custody but was blocked by Sean's maternal grandmother.  New Jersey officials and even President Obama took notice and got involved.

Now Sean is back in New Jersey for the first time in 5 years.  Relatives say the next step is reacquainting him with his American family, enrolling him in school, and maybe even joining little league.
