From daytime diva to nighttime talker, Oprah Winfrey is going nocturnal.

Winfrey will announce Thursday the launch of “Oprah’s Next Chapter”. The program will reportedly run two to three nights a week on the soon-to-launch OWN network.

“Oprah’s Next Chapter,” dispenses with the studio format that made Oprah famous.

"I'm going to take viewers with me, going to take celebrities I want to interview with me," she said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal in advance of a presentation of OWN's programming plans to would-be advertisers.

The show is expected to be a key ingredient of the Oprah Winfrey Network, and guarantees Winfrey will regularly appear on the 24-hour network she'll be largely programming from behind the scenes.

It also pits Oprah against other night time personalities. What will Larry King do now?

The show will pair with another Oprah-based show on the network. The OWN network will launch with “Behind the Scenes: Oprah’s 25th Season,” a weekly reality show about the final season of her syndicated network talk show.

The behind-the-scenes show is billed as “a one-hour primetime docu-series featuring a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse of The Oprah Winfrey Show.”

A joint venture of Winfrey's Harpo Inc. and Discovery Communications Inc., the network signs on Jan. 1 in approximately 80 million homes. Winfrey will end her weekday syndicated talk show at the close of its 25th season in late 2011.
