Tonya Harding Welcomes First Child

The former figure skating star welcomes a baby boy.

Former figure skating champ Tonya Harding is now a mom.

Harding, 40, give birth to a baby boy February 19, reports People.

It was the first child for Harding and her husband, Joseph Price, 42, who live in Washington state.

"Everybody's happy and healthy," said Harding's friend, Don Horn, in an interview with the Oregonian.

"She's always wanted a baby," he added. "She was told she could never have a child ... and guess what? It really is a miracle and she really is very happy."

Harding was the 1991 U.S. Figure Skating champion, but is perhaps best remembered for her role in having her rival, Nancy Kerrigan, injured to prevent her from competing in the 1994 U.S. Figure Skating Championships. Harding eventually pleaded guilty to hindering prosecution and was barred from participating in events sponsored by the United States Figure Skating Association.
