Oscar Win Earns Trent Reznor a Chance to Kill Abe Lincoln's Mom

More than 20 years after his feature film debut, Nine Inch Nails founder Trent Reznor is taking on his second role, this time as a blood-sucking freak.

Reznor, who last week won an Oscar for Best Score for "The Social Network," will play the vampire who kills the mother of our 16th president in "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter," according to EW, confirming earlier reports from Badass Digest. Reznor he will also score the film.

The last time Reznor appeared in a movie, it was as a member of a the fictional band The Problems in the Michel J. Fox film "Light of Day." You can spot him on stage playing keyboards in the clip below.

He joins a cast that already includes Benjamin Wlaker as Lincoln, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Mary Todd, Dominic Cooper as Abe's mentor, Henry Sturgess and Anthony Mackie as a character called Will.

Director Timur Bekmambetov plans to start shooting this summer with an eye toward a 2012 release.
