The Meatpacking District already lost one legendary local eatery this year in Florent, and now the 140-year-old Old Homestead steakhouse has survived a landlord scrap with some scars. Eater reports that the lease is up on the southern half of the restaurant (the part at 52-54 Ninth Avenue), and the Old Homestead will give up the space. However, the restaurant owns 56 Ninth Ave., which is adorned with the cow and neon sign, so that stuff's not going anywhere. [Eater]
