A Iranian dissident who prosecutors allege was targeted for murder for speaking out against the Iranian regime took the stand in federal court. NBC New York’s Jonathan Dienst reports.

The dissident writer testified for more than two hours at the trial of two men charged with trying to kidnap and kill her in 2022. Prosecutors say the murder plot was orchestrated from Iran to stop her from speaking out about human rights abuses in her home country.
