If Nascar is going to expand beyond its 75-million-person fan base, which is about 40% female, it's going to have to expand the demographics of its drivers, who for 50-odd years have been almost all male. To that end, the Sept. 6 Nascar Craftsman Truck Series race at Gateway International Raceway outside St. Louis featured Chrissy Wallace, a 20-year-old driver who many believe will be the first female Nascar superstar.
