Aaron Russell joined the U.S. men’s national team in 2014. Russell began playing beach and indoor volleyball when he was 15 at Centennial High School in Ellicott City, Maryland.

After graduating for Pennsylvania State University, Russell joined the U.S. Men’s Team as an outside hitter. As the youngest competitor of the U.S. Men's Team, Russell won the gold medal at the 2014 NORCECA World Championship Qualifier. There, he was also named “Best Spiker.”

After winning the 2015 FIVB World Cup -- where Russell was the top scorer -- the U.S. Men’s Team qualified for the 2016 Olympics.
