100 Firefighters Knock Out Fire at Queens Home: FDNY

Over 100 firefighters responded to a fire at a Queens home Tuesday morning, the FDNY says. 

Firefighters were called to the two-story home on 48th Avenue in Woodside shortly after 10:30 a.m., where a blaze had broken out on the second floor, the FDNY said. 

It took crews about an hour to knock out the fire, which sent up thick black smoke into the sky in the middle of the residential neighborhood, video posted to social media shows. 

One firefighters was taken to Elmhurst Hospital with minor injuries. No one else was hurt.
