The two women taken into custody after a baby found unconscious at a Midtown hotel died have been released and have not been charged, police said.

Police took the 24- and 26-year-old women into custody Saturday after an employee at the Hotel Pennsylvania noticed they had a baby with them who wasn't moving.

The 4-month-old baby, identified by police as Dominic Greene, of Delaware, was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Medical Examiner will determine how Dominic died.

Police said the 24-year-old woman was Dominic's stepsister, but didn't say why Dominic was with her at the hotel.

Both the 24-year-old and the 26-year-old appeared to be either intoxicated or under the influence of drugs when they were trying to book the room, according to police.

Police didn't immediately provide additional details about the circumstances surrounding their release.
