A 14-year-old girl in New Jersey was hospitalized after a classmate gave her a marijuana "gummy bear" that made her ill, cops say.
Fair Lawn police say the girl reported she was given the marijuana edible by a 13-year-old classmate that would "stop her from stressing out."
The 14-year-old threw up numerous times and was transported to Valley Hospital, according to police.
The "gummy bear" was confirmed to be a marijuana edible when it was tested at the hospital, police say.
The 13-year-old who provided the "gummy bear" will be charged on a juvenile petition in family court, police say, adding that witness statements also led to the arrest of a Jeffrey Klein, 48. Klein was charged with possession of hashish under 5 grams. He was released.
Attorney information for Klein was not immediately known.

A subsequent investigation allegedly revealed that other edibles were given to additional students during school hours.
