Alleged Gang Member Gets Prison For Raping Teen Girl on Long Island

One of the three teenagers who pleaded guilty to brutally raping and robbing a girl on a Long Island golf course last year will spend the next 15 years behind bars.

The 17-year-old boy, a reputed member of the MS-13 street gang, apologized Thursday as he was sentenced to the May 29 attack and rape. He previously pleaded guilty to rape, criminal sex act and sexual abuse.

At the sentencing hearing, the victim's mother called the teen "an animal with no soul."

Prosecutors say that the teens approached the girl and another teenage boy near a Brentwood middle school that day, attacking and robbing the pair.

The suspects then took the girl to a golf course and allegedly raped her. She was found naked in the woods.

“The victim was repeatedly raped by [the teen] and an accomplice...while a third man...acted as a lookout,” District Attorney Thomas Spota said in a statement Thursday.

Another teen who pleaded guilty to rape in the case will be sentenced in May, authorities said.
