Colgate University was on lockdown Monday night over reports of an armed person on campus, according to the college's Twitter page.
An "all clear" was sent out shortly before 11:45 p.m.
"There is an armed person at the Coop," the college tweeted at 8:20 p.m. "Find a safe space and remain indoors. If you are off-campus, stay away."

The Coop is a dining area at the private, liberal arts college.
The Hamilton Police Department said they responded to reports of an armed person and that no shots had been fired.
