Mayor de Blasio says he'll give the New York City's embattled Board of Elections $20 million if the board agrees to reforms.
The board has been under fire since last Tuesday's presidential primary when about 126,000 Brooklyn voters were mysteriously removed from voting lists or had their statuses changed to "inactive."
De Blasio said Monday that he would make $20 million available to the board if officials there agree to reforms including installing an outside consultant and empaneling a blue-ribbon commission to identify failures in the system.
A Board of Elections spokeswoman did not respond to a request for comment.
De Blasio's announcement comes after City Comptroller Scott Stringer and state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said they would investigate the board. All three officials are Democrats.
