2 Die in Separate Motorcycle Crashes on Long Island: Police

A 29-year-old man was killed when his motorcycle collided with a vehicle in Lindenhurst, police said. 

Marlon Meza, of Copiague, was riding a 2007 Honda CRB 1000 eastbound on Sunrise Highway at about 10:30 a.m. Sunday when he struck a Mercedes Benz C30 that was making a U-turn, Suffolk County police said. 

Meza was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the vehicle, 69-year-old Daria Williams, of West Islip, was not injured.

Police are still investigating.

Later Sunday at around 5 p.m., a 24-year-old Bay Shore man died in a separate motorcycle crash on Bay Shore Road, according to police. 

Brendan Coolbaugh collided with a Mazda, police said. Coolbaugh was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Mazda and her five children were taken to an area hospital for evaluation. No other injuries were reported.
