Manhole Explodes on Upper East Side, Street Closed

A manhole explosion has shut down a street on the Upper East Side, police say.

The blast on East 94th Street has closed the street from Third Avenue to Lexington Avenue, according to police.

No one was hurt, but there's been some property damage, police say.

Firefighters are on scene and Con Edison is responding.

Earlier Tuesday, a water main break in midtown created a traffic mess during the morning rush.
