Authorities have identified the athlete who died in the Ironman U.S. Championship in New York and New Jersey as a police officer from Hong Kong.
Andy Naylor appeared distressed during a 2.4-mile swim at the start of the all-day triathlon Saturday.
The 43-year-old was lifted from the Hudson River and received CPR before he was taken to a hospital.

Contestants in the race followed their swim in the Hudson with a 112-mile bicycle ride through the suburbs, and then a 26.2-mile marathon that finished in Riverside Park.
