Broken Rail, Truck Crash Cause LIRR Delays: MTA

Delays of up to two hours hampered commuters who take Long Island Railroad trains through Mineola on Wednesday morning, the MTA announced.

The transit authority blamed the delays at the tail of Wednesday morning's rush on a broken rail and a truck that hit a train bridge.

Trains on the Port Jefferson, Ronkonkoma and Oyster Bay lines were affected by the delays.

Normal service resumed before Wednesday afternoon's rush.
