A fire ripped through a Thruway Authority building in Larchmont Tuesday evening, gutting the structure.
Chopper 4 over the area showed flames ravaging through the structure, sending up plumes of black smoke high into the air.
Firefighters were soon able to get the fire under control, and flames were largely extinguished.
A Thruway Authority spokesman said the fire started in the salt storage shed at its maintenance facility on Fifth Avenue, near I-95.
It's not clear how the blaze started. Thruway personnel and local firefighters are on the scene.
