A group of residents at one of New Jersey's most popular lakes is taking steps to make sure boaters and swimmers behave themselves this summer.
The Lake Hopatcong Foundation has printed a pamphlet urging people to be respectful.
The move comes after some homeowners initially sought to impose new regulations after overcrowding, noise and pollution last summer.
The New Jersey Herald reports the local Boat Regulation Commission didn't act on the proposal over the winter, so the foundation decided to put together the pamphlet.
It urges visitors to respect private property, pass behind smaller vessels to avoid wake disruption, keep music at a reasonable level and not throw trash in the lake.
Lake Hopatcong is the largest freshwater body of water in the state.
