NYPD Rescues Kitty From Inside Car Tire

Well, that's one life used up. Good thing this kitten's got eight more.

A two-month-old black kitten that ran into a Brooklyn street and then inside a car's wheel well was rescued Monday by two NYPD officers.

Officers Christopher Rinelli and Kenia Marte were flagged down at the intersection of Ocean Parkway and Sherman Street around 12:30 p.m. Monday by a woman who told them about the animal.

Geraldine Cassone said the cat had run into her car's wheel well when she had stopped upon seeing it in the road.

The officers used a jack on Cassone's car to remove the wheel and retrieve the kitten, wrapping her in a towel. She was wet, but appeared to be unharmed.

Cassone intends to adopt the kitten.
