Cops are looking for a stranger in connection with a brutal bat attack on a woman in her own Long Island front yard last year.

Authorities released footage, apparently from a home security camera, of the Nov. 13 attack on Garden City Avenue in Wyandach. The jarring video shows the stranger walking at a determined pace down a dark street and turning into the woman's driveway. He marches across her lawn and then pulls back the bat to hit her; the footage cuts off at that point.

It was around 3:30 a.m. that late fall morning; it's not clear why the woman was outside at the time, nor were details on her injuries immediately available. Police said Thursday the man caught on camera attacking her with the bat remains unidentified. They're asking for the public's help to find him.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call 1-800-220-TIPS.
