Major Delays Expected on NJ Transit Lines After Plastic Wrap Disrupts Service

New Jersey Transit is experiencing hour delays after resuming service of Northeast corridor and North Jersey Coast lines.

Service was temporarily suspended in both directions due to Amtrak overhead wire issues.

A plastic wrap in the catenary power wire disrupted service, according to Amtak spokesman Jason Abrams. Trains were halted until the plastic wrap was removed.

Raritan Valley Line service may experience delays as a result of the wire issues, as well.

NJ TRANSIT and private carrier buses are cross honoring rail tickets and passes.

PATH will cross honor rail tickets and passes at Hoboken, Newark Penn Station and 33rd St.

The disruption in service comes on one of the busiest travel days of the year — the day before the Thanksgiving holiday.
