Wrestling Coach Busted with Cocaine in Conn., Police Say

A high school wrestling coach faces a drug charge after being stopped for driving erratically in a coastal town in Connecticut, police said Sunday.

Westport police pulled over a vehicle driven by David Bernstein, 28, of Fairfield, at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday. During the course of the traffic stop, officers found a small amount of cocaine in Bernstein's possession, police said.

A computer check subsequently revealed that Bernstein, a wrestling coach at Staples High School in Westport, was wanted on a warrant for failure to appear in court on a previous charge, police said.

Bernstein was released on $3,500 bond. There was no information as to whether he had a lawyer who could comment on the charges.
