Police have arrested a 22-year-old man for the stabbing death of a Washington, D.C. woman who was visiting a friend on Long Island.
Robert Schiavo, of Medford, was charged with murder in the death of 61-year-old Nancy McKinley, Suffolk County Police said.
McKinley was found early Sunday at a home in Bellport suffering from multiple stab wounds, according to police. She was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center, where she died.
The victim's friend who lives in the home where the stabbing took place told police an intruder had attacked her friend.
Police said Schiavo will be arraigned on Monday. The name of Schiavo's lawyer was not immediately available.
