Police say they are looking for a gunman who allegedly walked up to a woman inside her Bronx apartment building, grabbed her and shot her in the stomach before running away.
The stranger approached the 39-year-old woman in the hallway at about 4:45 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 8, grabbed her and struggled with her, then shot her, police said. He fled the building near Valentine Avenue and East 178th Street in the Tremont section.
The victim was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition and was expected to be OK.
The suspect is believed to be in his early 20s and about 5 feet 2 inches tall. A motive wasn't clear.
